SOS Hills
Hello fellow supporters of Annexation,

Has everyone who receives this e-mail sent in an individual letter to LAFCO regarding supporting Temecula's proposed Annexation?  Have your neighbors, friends and family sent in an individual letter to LAFCO?

NOW is the time before it is too late!  Monday, May 4th is only 30 days before the Hearing.  If the letters are not received shortly there will not be time for the LAFCO staff to copy the letters and put them in the seven LAFCO Commissioner's preparation books for the Hearing.  Granite has been busy and there are already hundreds of letters opposing annexation.  We NEED an outpouring of letters in support of annexation! They will be receiving these books approximately one week before the Hearing date.

If you haven't and need a letter please see the letter in the section that follows.  You are welcome to personalize the letter.

It is very important that all the LAFCO Commissioners know how we feel and in strength of numbers.

RE:     Case Nos.     2008-20-1&3
                                 2008-21-1&3

Dear Commissioners:

I fully support the proposed annexation by the City of Temecula of 4,997 acres of unincorporated land at the southern gateway to the City.  We understand that the intention to annex this property is to preserve it as Open Space, which has been a part of the City's General Plan since 1993.  I believe the city should have "Local Control" over this area.

It is vital that the entire area proposed for annexation be protected for future generations, because the majority of this land consists of the Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve.  This Reserve is a research facility that is used by universities and scientists all over the world.  The area also includes the last wildlife corridor in Southern California that connects the coastal Santa Anna Mountains with the inland Palomar Mountains.  The Santa Margarita River, the last free flowing river in Southern California, also flows through five miles of this property on its way to the ocean.

I believe the City of Temecula to be the best "steward" of this land; therefore, we encourage the LAFCO Commissioners to approve the City of Temecula's annexation request for the entire 4,997 acres.

Respectfully submitted,

If all your letter says is "WE SUPPORT TEMECULA'S ANNEXATION", that would be enough! Sending the letter is what is most important.

Thank you for your continued support!

Kathleen Hamilton
